OCT 18 – Ganga Maya Adhikari , who had been staging indefinite hunger strike demanding action against the murderers of her son Krishna Prasad Adhikari , ended her hunger strike on Saturday evening.
Law Minister Narahari Acharya reached Bir Hospital in the evening and fed Ganga Maya horlicks, ending her hunger strike . It has been learnt that Ganga Maya will eat medicine and fluids. The government has further pledged to provide ‘special relief’ to the Adhikari family.
Ganga Maya had been staging indefinite hunger strike since October 25, 2013 demanding investigation into the murder of her son Krishna Prasad Adhikari during Maoist insurgency.
Nanda Prasad Adhikari, who had been staging fast-unto-death with his wife Ganga Maya at Bir Hospital in the Capital for the past 11 months, had passed away last month.
